The Crown Inn Bar, Restaurant, Rooms & Cottage in Church Enstone

Welcome back Inn to the Crown!

From July 19 our policy on COVID Safety continues with caution over the next month, at least. Our staff will continue to wear face masks as company policy. Table service will continue as is. We would like customers to wear masks when moving through the pub however we feel it not necessary to wear masks in our outside spaces. We will be challenging customers who do not wear masks indoors . Our ventilation is something that we will continue to be thinking about so please excuse the odd draught inside! We will be putting x4 bar stools as a trial at our traditional bar However no standing. Thank you for your patience whilst together, as a collective force we can do our bit to protect others and make life impossible for these variants.

Unfortunately, due to a national shortage of people wanting to work in hospitality, we are too short staffed in the kitchen to be able to open seven days a week. We are therefore going to have to shut the kitchen on a Monday and Tuesday for the foreseeable future. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and can assure you that we are working hard to resolve the situation.

We have a choice of four tables in the front bar area that has the classic traditional pub atmosphere, log fire of course. Four tables in the restaurant where there is a slightly more refined dining atmosphere and then we have four tables in our light and airy conservatory. The garden has open air tables with umbrellas as well as four tables and a bar (for x6) under cover.

We do recommend that you book a table.

Opening Hours:
Monday – Tuesday 3pm until 8.30pm
Wednesday – Saturday 12 noon until 9.30pm (or earlier if quiet)
Sunday 12 noon until 7pm (or earlier if quiet)

For Over 300 years this Inn has been welcoming visitors and travelers from far away places as well as providing a well earned opportunity for chat and recuperation for the locality. We are a family run free house establishment and the Crown Team are part of that spirit.

A hidden gem located in the rural Oxfordshire village of Church Enstone, the perfect spot for any occasion from a spontaneous lunch to celebratory dinner, in either our flag stoned bar area, restaurant, conservatory or our lovely garden.

Thomas Clavier , our Head Chef , fully embraces the ingredients on offer according to the seasons.  Our lamb is from Over Worton and our beef grown in Oxfordshire. We like to keep the menu interesting and so change starters and mains roughly by the month. The Crown Classics that include the legendary Crown burger , our pies and Hooky Battered Cod and homemade Chips are there to stay.

We enjoy sourcing some of the best Ales and Beers both locally and nationally.

Our conservatory and restaurant are available for private parties. Including wedding parties where we would be delighted to discuss your ideas and we can share ours!
